New Hope Christian Church
Children's Ministry

What is The A.R.K.? The A.R.K. stands for Actively Righteous Kids, and is our
Sunday morning children's ministry at New Hope Christian Church. It begins every
week for all children, preschool through 5th grade, at 9:45AM in the Large Fellowship
Hall. The A.R.K. is divided into segments: Large Group, Small Groups, and Children's
Church.

In Large Group, we all gather together to sing songs, introduce the Bible story of the
day, and recognize birthdays and other celebrations.

Around 10:00AM we break out into Small Groups divided by age: Preschool,
Kindergarten through 2nd graders, and 3rd through 5th graders. In Small Group, the
kids participate in activities and crafts that reinforce the Bible lesson in a practical
way. Parents pick up their kids from their Small Group Classrooms at 10:45AM.

If your family stays for our 11:00AM Traditional Worship service, children sit with
parents until the Children's Moment, when they come to the front of the sanctuary for
a special message geared for them. Then we go downstairs for Children's Church for
the remainder of the service. During Children's Church, we explore the Bible lesson
through music, creative movement and games.
Find out more about our monthly Virtue here!

Each year, the average child will spend more than 3800 waking hours at home and
less than 50 hours in church.  That means the average parent has more than 10 times
the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in
10 years!  The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child. WHAT
HAPPENS AT HOME in many ways is more important than what happens at church! What
does that mean for our children's ministry? It means that if the church is to have any
impact at all in the lives of today’s children, we must partner with parents to help their
children discover and embrace a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. And we must
be a resource and encouragement to help parents with a most important task.

What other resources are available? To help reinforce our weekly virtue and
Bible lessons, we send home with each child a God-Time and Fridge Door Card. These
small cards are full of valuable information for parents to use to help their children
grow spiritually!
